I woke up Sunday morning around 2 am with the urge to play either t6 or mvc3. I decided some t6 online, i play one match and before it finishes my Ps3 just shuts down and im staring at a black screen. I unplug it and plug it back in and it starts up for half a second then turns off with a red flashing light. Ive been through this b4 it was the infamous YELLOW LIGHT OF DEATH. Ive sent my old 60gb to sony b4 for $150 and they sent me a refurbished model back and this one just took a shit so im not going through that again. I go on youtube to see if there is a fix for this and there was. I see in a few videos that there is a few ways to fix this temporarily: Put a blow dryer to the back of the unit for 15mins then a fan for 15, open the ps3 and break it down to the mother board and wave a heat gun over it then let it cool, or put the motherboard in the oven and let cool. I decided fuck it im putting this bitch in the oven and if it dont work ill just buy a new slim. So after cooking this shit on 425 for 10 mins and letting cool for 20 mins, i put it back together meticulously and at first i turns on without fail but there is no picture. The ps3 has a Recovery menu with 6 options if you hold the power button down in certain sequence. So i choose the option to restore factory settings...a few times and viola 20 mins later my Ps3 is working again. So the point of this is the Ps3 really does everything......even cooks in the oven. Im like a retarded Chef boyardee.
