saKrayZne's Evo Tekken Blog... thingy

Ok, ok, Im a lil late on writing this up, MY BAD! But Im just gonna jump right in…

Tekken Tag Tournament Two @ Evo 2012

1st off, Im biased as hell, LOVE me some Tekken. I think it's the best game ever made, EVAR! And here in Las Vegas comes the Evolution 2012 Fighting game Championships once again! They did NOT have Tekken 6 in the line up this year for whatever reason, but they did have an area dedicated to Tekken. Filthy Rich, Markman and others had a sweet setup where 'Special' PS3's that had a copy of TTT2 on them was made available for play! Fan boy mode: ACTIVATED

If you've played the original Tag, be ready for WAY more. This game gets in deep with everything you knew before, and then some other systems that are not so easy to catch on the first go when playing. (Ex. If you do a tag combo, your opponents other character automatically gets rage, or you NEED rage to tag crash, but you lose your rage, Ect.) Apart for that and other lil things that I know I don't know about, the game is solid in every aspect. Movement, animations, combo system, tagging. Im actually very happy about the way we can tag and still be on a walled stage. That was one of my fears, but no more!

My Likes n Dislikes… Hmm… Let's see.

LIKES: I like how previous under powered characters or crappy launches got crappy damage, but now with the new comboing system, EVERYTHING can hurt a great deal… Which is also kinda bad too, hahaha!! I've seen videos of the game before I went to Evo and from that and from what I saw at Evo, combos are a HUGE part of the game. Stylish and very versatile, the system allows many different variations of combos and uses of many moves that were once not usable before.

And although combos play a big part of this game, traditional Tekken play is still much more important. (Pokes; throws/throw-breaking; blocking; punishing; ect) Cant combo someone you cant launch!

DISLIKES: Well, there are few of course. I didn't like how all the 'new' people were not in the game, even tho I played my mains all day long. And I didn't like playing this awesome game for such a short period of time. Other than that, it's all love. Oh, one more dislike… I think Im gonna be playing too many characters cause they're ALL really good!

Over the weekend, I got to meet a few up with some old peps, and met a few new ones. Grim Grizzly, Big Word came from my home state of MD. USMC Jaguar and Devil Jim came threw also. Invincible Xtina came up from AZ. Then you know ½ of Cali came. Tim, KaNE, Chet, Rip, saw Suiken at a random restaurant at Planet Hollywood. Some cool new people I met were 725, Exalted comin from NY, and of course the lovely Kanoe from SolCal I believe. Cant believe she said she loves Tekken :3

Anyways, Im gonna wrap this one up. Im just gonna say I had an amazing time at Evo and cant wait to see TTT2 there next year. I do hope that with this new game coming out, it will attract more players to come join us and level up. There's much to learn and it will not happen overnight, but Im going to do my best to bring up the Las Vegas Tekken community as much as I can, including writing this shit!

Announcements Blah Blah Blah....

With the release of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 for consoles looming ever so close, I decided to throw a release party on the Saturday of TTT2 release. Who knows I may throw a tourney on said release party. Ill keep everyone updated as soon as I sort things out.

Also I know that its late, but I would like to Welcome Micheal and Aaron Ramos to our fair city and to our small FGC. I would also like to welcome Archer aka Butters and Alpha6 to our little Las Vegas Tekken family.

TTT2 Unlimited

So Namco Bandai made a new version of TTT2 called TTT2 unlimited. The new version features solo mode against a tag team of 2 characters. Solo character has the equal amount of health as a Team (2 characters). The solo character also has double the strength I guess they did this to compensate for having no partner. TTT2U also supports 4 players. Thats right one team can have two different players. They also brought back the 1v1 (characters) ala Tekken 6. Im guessing in solo mode versus theyre gonna have the same health ad they dis back in T6.

I guess its safe to say theres gonna b a lot more team tournaments for this game like in SFxT. Not scramble mode tournament but the other team mode. Also its safeto say that solo v team mode is gonna be banned on tourney play because of the broken aspec of it.

My thoughts on FR and beyond!

I am writing this piece 2 weeks to late but I would like to give thanks to the head brotha in charge of Final Round, Shin Blanka! You, sir, put one hell of a show! It was my first major outside of Evo and my first time in your fair city of Atlanta, GA. I know Saturday was a cluster fuck but in my opinion its very forgivable because the of the experience I had. I honestly can not wait for next years Final Round! Oh you best believe Vegas Tekken and the Donks are gonna be back next year!

As for the Tekken scene in Atlanta, all i can say is that its very hostile. And I mean that in a very good way because it will force you to level up or you will be left behind by the entire city. I wish we have this kind of scene here in Vegas.

The next major tournament im looking at is ReveLAtions. Since LA is not far from vegas, i figure there's gonna be a lot of us that are going. I know that i will probably be there for King of Fighters XIII but i will alwo be there for Tekken.

Now i feel myself just starting to go on and on about random things. So i guess ill leave it here. Hope to update this site soon

P.S.
Good shit on making it to top 20 in Final Round Prinny and Randomlama! Thank you for finally putting Vegas in he KoF map!

TTT2 Evo Notes

First of all I would like to say thank you to Namco Bandai for bringing the Comic-Con build of TTT2 and then updating it to the Evo build.

Here are some stuff I can remember from the top of my head:
-Tag Assault works by hitting the tag button immediately after a bound move.
-If your partner's life bar begins flashing white this means your partner can perform a momentum breaker by pressing 2+tag. In my experience this is useful in getting out of corners because this your partner will come in a slight angle. Also your partner will tag in while performing a diving knee like move.
-You can now pick team chreddy (christie/eddie). I saw Q Dogg using this team during the weekend. Also you can do the same thing with the bears.
-Jun seems like a mix with Anna and Asuka according to Blood Hawk. Jun still has her Kazama fighting style but now it seems like she has a stance(s) now similar to Anna's b+3 stance. It has auto low parry and has a throw reversal just like Anna's b+3.
-King's cd+4 causes a full knock down now instead of a techable back crumple.
-Jaycee has an iSW while paired with Armor King(?). Also she replaces Julia in the character select screen because she is Julia. There's a rumor going around that her 3 player outfit has her without a mask on
-They took out Ganryu's df+4 kick. It is now a knee that's a start of a new string. Sop its df+4,1,2. The 1 is a high and is jab punishable.
-Devil transformation is now ub+1+2(Evo Build) now instead of 1+3+4(SDCC Build).

Ill add more as I remember stuff.

TTT2 Prospects.....

I got more and more people telling me that they will be playing TTT2 when it comes out. Hopefully they will pick up tekken and take it seriously. Its time for us to revive the dying tekken scene here in Vegas.
